Segways are the fun of the future and a great gift idea for two

Riding a segway is a little like having access to a hover-board, making them the single person transportation system of the future.  Fitted with incredibly complex computers which can perform thousands of calculations a second, a segway uses the rider’s weight distribution to keep you upright which makes them uniquely intuitive to ride. 

Not only are they simple to master, but they are capable of turning on a sixpence and giving you an exciting ride which will make you want one of your own.

Your experience will start with you getting kitted out in safety gear before having a safety briefing and instruction on how to ride your segways. 

Then it’s off onto the track where you will tackle varied terrain and get the chance to really put the segways through their paces.

This activity is available on selected Monday to Sunday dates, throughout the year.

How long does this activity last?

The activity will last for about an hour.

You need to know

Minimum age 10 years, under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.
The minimum weight is 45kg (7 stone) and the maximum weight is 117kg (18½ stone). Pregnant women cannot be permitted to participate for safety reasons.
Riders must have the ability to make motions such as climbing and descending stairs without assistance.

You will be in a group with other people.

Family and friends

You are welcome to bring up to two spectators to come and watch your Segway experience.

I want a segway!

This experience was even better than I had expected - I know people who had tried it, and they all said how fun it was, but my co-ordination is appalling so I was worried that I would fall off. But it was really easy to get the hang of the controls and within about a minute we were both zooming around and even managing to show-off a bit. The training was great and the off-roading section was really fun. We never thought we'd get the hang of going up-hill, but after a couple of laps we were zipping up and down without any worries. We spent most of the drive home talking about how fun it would be to have our own Segways!
